I briefly owned a 2000 C1500 (5.3L gas) with a Whipple supercharger...it was very streetable and was verrrry fast for a pickup!

This kit would deliver similar results under the hood...check it out!

I would take a serious look a magnacharger. They will produce much more torque at lower rpm ranges being a roots style blower. Much better choice for a truck used like a truck IMO. It would have a torque curve more similar to the whipple you have experienced. The centrifugal chargers on a truck are very "peaky" and far as power goes since you dont get max boost until closer to max rpm.
