pondering a transmission swap

Hey there.

how hard would it be to swap out a TH400 transmission out of a M1008 CUCV for a Muncie SM465?

Benefits? Losses?

Whats a used SM465 cost on average?

What problems might I run into?

SHould I have a shop do the Install?

The parts are all available from various model years and you can mix and match.

You will need a flywheel, pressure plate, TO bearing and arm, Pivot ball and the related parts to go on the chassis.

You also need the pilot bearing for the crank too.

You might find all that you need from a donor rig at a bone yard.

Now the 6.2 and 6.5 use the same crank and the flywheels will interchange.
You cant use the parts from a Rat or mouse application other than possibly the tranny.
