Re: Your Pinnacle exhaust system. Compared to a stock system, is it much louder? I'm interested in getting it but I don't want a loud exhaust.

I was concerned about that when I bought it, but it is not really that much louder.

To put it into perspective, I recently drove across country pulling my travel trailer, and the most annoying thing was the turbo wine (and I have a stock airbox). I really didn't notice the exhaust.

However, if you have the factory vacuum wastage system or a mechanical boost controller in place will make a difference in noise. The turbo muffles almost all the sound. While crusing on the factory wastegate controls, the wastegate is frequently partially or fully open, making the exhaust tone louder. One member reported this.

It does not annoy my wife and kids.

As a comparasion, the 95 Ram in my signature line has no mufflers and a true dual exhaust. It resonates loudly in the cab. The Pinnacle diesel exhaust is night and day, just a little louder than stock.

I would do it again.
