Last summer I tried to install the Universal Aux. Filter on my truck but couldn't get the filter primed. For those of you who have installed this filter assembly, do you open both bleeders (on OEM and Aux) or close one or the other? I think I was priming it wrong when I tried. Any info would be great.
I find that I just need to open the bleeder screw at the OEM filter. It takes between 100 to 200 full pumps before the filters seems to fill.
Open the bleeder on the filter closest to the engine.

Do you pump with the bleeder open, or pump then open bleeder remove air?

Pump with the bleeder open...
Do you pump with the bleeder open, or pump then open bleeder remove air?
If you have a helper or can reach (or better yet a lift pump), I prefer to pump up hard then open bleeder slightly to relieve pressure repeating until it spits.

I agree with John. Pump/release, repeat. Seems to be more effective. Especially if you have an aux. filter that is lower than the OEM (most are).
