liftpump ???

my truck jerks under load it seems to get worse the lower my fuel gets i dont think my lift pump is working i cant hear it i remember hearing one on a 3500 hd i put a dumpbed on a few years ago but im not sure if his was stock any help would be great thanks

White or black smoke?

If white, maybe the lift pump; mine was dead, but didn't notice it, and on my DP motorhome, the distance to the tank from the IP as around 22 running feet.

Another thing to check is your air filter if the smoke is black.grey..

Sounds like the LP. Pull the output line and have someone hit the key. If it works better with more fuel in the tank, or starts easier with the nose on the low end of a slope, it is a good sign the lift pump is not doing the job.
