i see for 2009 gm offers a 5.3 aluminum block engine.....

Nothing new, really. The aluminum 5.3 has been around for a few years. Not sure when they began, but a friend's 2005 K1500 has one, and he hauls a 6K 5'er with it. Good engine, so far (for a gasser).

rebates seem to be higher for the aluminum block engine.....wonder if it s history and they want to get rid of them or promote the idea...
