OK Lock & Stitch

Does anyone know the difference between the machinist "lock & stitch" verses "lacing" which is a better or more successful procedure. I have a 141 block that has original clearances with one or two small cracks on the usual place (inner main web).

Also opinions about the value of such a bare block after the repair?:rolleyes:

You need to use the Lock and Stitch thread in inserts.

I bought the tooling back this fall to do these.
The original hole is drilled out and retapped to allow the special insert to thread in.

These inserts have threads that look like a christmas tree as it stands up.
The harder the pull the more it pulls the crack back together as well as strengthens the area.

The locking pins are not what is needed for the main webs.
