Well, I ordered a new 2009 extended cab dually D/A today to replace my '93 ext cab 6.5 dually. Once, I got the new engine in 2000 and did all the cooling upgrades and other durability/performance items, it has been a great truck. The truck has only 111,000 miles and the engine about 47,000 miles but the truck itself is 16 plus years old and we do our traveling in it in a Lance cabover camper, so I decided it is time for something new. Anyway, I should have asked you people this before I took the leap, but are there any issues with the 2009 or the LMM engine I should be aware of. Any insights appreciated.

I'm all goose-bumps with envy! We have a guy, here in the park, who traded in his late 07 because they (GM) just couldn't get it right. Was in limp almost constanly. His new 08 has been just great, so far. He says he doesn't even know if it has cooked off the DPF, yet. He's towed all over from SD down through the South East and back to Brownsville, so far, without a hitch. I've ridden in this truck, and I'm impressed with the quietness and the ride quality. I'll bet you'll be pleased with your choice.
Just be happy that you don't have to worry about setting your garage on fire (Ford), or having to up-grade your auto tranny (Dodge). Just joking, just joking! Actually have an 06 Cummins in the park that (I think) rides and handles better, but more truck-like than my 04 DM, and an 08 Ford 6.4 manual, that I like just fine.
Oh, that new-car smell!
