I have an '05 2500 HD and noticed some weird steering manuovers with driving straight.I looked closer,my rear tire on the right rear was sitting farther to the rear tan the left and not centered in the wheel-well.I thot the rear main spring broke ,but the U-bolts backed off alllowing the rear to slide back and forth.
Anyone had this happen?
Thanks for reading

It turned to be a broken center bolt.
Thanks for the replies.
Straight down the road again!!!!:)
Do you beat on it??? I've only seen that happen to pulling trucks.
Most likely just a bad bolt.
Matalurgy is good these days but bolts do break.
I found two snapped bolts on one of the front spring hangers on my Big rig. Grade 8 bolts and just broken inn two.
Stress and other things just cause stuff to break.
Ya never know on some of these things.
The center bolt may have been too hard and or possibly tightened too tight when the springs were assembled or had a stress crack at the juncture of the head and the shank.
Glad you are straight again :D
