Date code problems

OK I can not find the date code. I looked on the passengers side and there are no numbers. Under the casting number there are numbers that appear to be a date it reads 10-29-81 but that cant be right can it? The date cast in right under the casting number.

Also looked at the front of the block and all I got was GMC6.2LD no date info there. Any help would be great.

Sorry. Also slightly higher on the block than the casting numbers on the drivers side there is cast 222 but no letter.

You've got an '82 block, one of the best 6.2 blocks made.

That's the tell-tale of an '82 block, no date "code" just a date (like it should be IMHO).
