Has anyone tried the cooking oil on the new emmisions trucks? At the customers request we did a conversion on a 2007.5, 2 fuel systems, stock and vege oil. Crank it on diesel then when warm switch to cooking oil, purge back to diesel at end of the day.

All was good untill the dpf plugged, and caused back pressure that caused unburned fuel(vege oil) to go passed the rings into the crankcase, which then polymerized the engine oil. Looked like gummy worm consistency. This caused the valve cover areas to plug completely full of stiff oil, which sent the remaining liquid oil into the pcv passages and into the intake and intercooler.

Very long story short, we cleaned the engine up, got it back on diesel, remedied the dpf problem and the owner is ready to go back on vege oil!!!!

Just curious if anyone had tried this or if anyone has succeeded at this, it will be an ongoing story so look for later posts.

By the way it does run good on the oil and its very cheap. But I would not do it to my new truck!!!!

Gee, just think how much money he is saving! :D Is the ROI measured in miles...or years?
