Has anyone installed a Nav head unit in the place of the 6-disc changer on a 05 silverado???
I have done plenty of reserch and have found the unit I need is a non LUX and have found GM part # 10377287 to be compatable with my truck's system. The reserch I have done is all over the board and canot get a straight ansure.
I,m not sure if this HU can be programed to my VIN or not?? The head unit is from a non LUX 2005 chevy suburban. any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

info on making this work in a 2005 silverado.
http://duramax.onlinedesk.net/navinstall/

This Http: includes a 6 cd changer I have not installed and has info on removing dash parts and other info I have used for my install.

I have competed my install and up and running. AWSOME
Part # needed for install
10377287 head unit(non lux) bose system with the UQ7 code
15135178 gps untenna
10390370 3.0 nave disc.
Keeping in mind this has worked for me in this perticular vehicle and might differ in any othe make model and year.
This is specific to my 2005hd duramax 4x4 silverado with the NON LUX bose system.
Thanks to all for bits and pieces of info.

Doing your homework and being patient This install cost me $525.00 with reprogaming of the vin theftlock. Far cry from what the dealer wanted
$3200.00 installed.

Wow $525 is pretty good. Can you pass on info about obtaining the parts for that price? Any idea if this would work the same in an '03?

E-BAY is a good place for parts and GOOGLE is a Great place for leeds to information.

An install is possible, I know I have done it. Not saying it would work on all vehicles but again how much time and money do you have to reserch?.
