I have a 94 6.5TD and am getting a code 36. Can anyone tell me what this is and what would cause it.
Any help would be appreciated.

While a code 36 can be due to a bad FSD/PMD, it is usually due to a misbehaving fuel solenoid inside the fuel injection pump.
We also have a more indepth troubleshooting page covering DTC-36/P1217 (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/dtc36.htm) in the subscriber section. :)

Thanks for the info Jim,
Is the fuel solenoid inside the IP a replaceable part?

Good Day!
"Is the fuel solenoid inside the IP a replaceable part?" Not by a mere mortal. The fuel shutoff solenoid is, but the fuel solenoid that might be causing your trouble is way too touchy for anyone other than a trained rebuilder (IMHO) to fool with.
Code 35 & 36 are closely related - do a search on both of these. I did a real lengthly write-up of my code 35 problem, but unfortunately most of it (the earliest posts) disappeared. (Very disappointing - I put a lot of time into trying to post clear, accurate data. :() You can look at it anyway here (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=22757) if you'd like. Basically, I made every ground I could find look like new. I was certain this would have no impact on my code 35 problem; it went away after I did this & it hasn't returned (it's now been ~ 5 years).
Blessings!
