My only thing with that is that the dye that they use has a nasty habit of sticking around for a LONG time. We had dyed diesel on the farm when I was growing up and had designated fuel cans for it because of the dye. You'd have to fill the can up several times with regular diesel before the dye would start going away.

Also, wasn't there something about the optical sensors in the electronic pumps having problems with the dyed diesel?

If you read it closely, you'll note that you're still responsible for the tax, and that their intent is to allow prevviously dyed fuel to be sold as road fuel, not use of off road fuel.

VW Diesels have translucent white plastic fuel lines. Once the dyed fuel gets in there the lines are permanently dyed red.

I was only saying that you can not that its tax free, but if you need a tank you can use it.
