Daylight Running Lamps not working

Everything works on my Burb, but the Day Light Running Lamps do not come on, even though the light for the Day Light Running Lamps on the dash is eluminated. Checked all the fuses and all seems to be good, the headlights/running lights work fine once turned on.

Is there a relay or any other circuit somewhere which could prevent the Day Light Running Lamps to come on?

Based on experience with other vehicles, there is usually a switch integrated with both the gearshift and/or the parking brake.

My parents' VW had an issue where the DRLs were not coming on and it turned out that my mother was not fully releasing the parking brake lever.

They figure that if you are in Park or have the parking brake on that you aren't driving and therefore the DRLs are off.

DRLs ONLY defeat with the parking brake on the burb.
