Hello All,

I'm a Ford guy but changing over to GM cause Fords inability to build a good diesel any more. Anyway, i'm going to buy a crewcab 2500 4x4 and wanted to know if the older versions are better or are the new ones just as good. Anyway please let me know your thoughts.

Can't answer your question except to say I gave up on F**D in 1989 and now have 5 Chevy's in the driveway LOL.

i havnt driven any of the 08's w the Lmm engine but what i will say is that when i heard they were going to put on dpf's in the 07 and on trucks(Lmm) i oppted to buy a low mile 06 w the lbz engine just to get away from the emissions crap. dont have to worry about plugging up a dpf w a tuner if i dont have one

I know of a 2007 truck with the LBZ engine for sale in east Tn. It has ~2,400 miles on it. You can PM me here (turn your PMs on so that I may respond) or post up here.

I think the asking price is in the low 30's but I am not certain. I can check if of any interest to you. The guy just doesn't drive it as much as he anticipated. I do recall him saying that it is still clean all under. It has never been driven in the rain.

2007 2500HD Duramax crew cab. LBZ / 3.73:1 gear.

This is as new as they come without any emissions add-ons as are the LMM engines.

The LBZ is a solid engine.

After 3 LB7s, all with major failure problems, I'd never touch another LB7, from my experience.

thanks nutnbutgmc,

I have located an 07 LT "old style" that has 14000 miles on it. The guy wants 29000. It looks like no ones ever drove it. My only concern is how to put bigger tires on it. The wheels are only 6.5" wide and are only approved for up to 245 tires. Any help on this one?
