I have found a 96 or 97 6.5 Block for my 2000 1 Ton. Provided that the block has no cracks, will this year of the engine work? Good year to rebuild. I plan on using the JK Splayed main caps, Phazer gear, and fluid dampner? Thanks for the help

If the block is currently crack-free, it would be a good candidate for splayed main caps. Unfortunately, the 1997-1998 were the worst for main web cracks, due to having piston oil spray nozzles in a block that wasn't designed for them. GM eventually reduced the diameter of the machined spray nozzle holes, which helped.

Thanks for the info, my old block was a 506 and the new block is a 506. We are taking the bottom end apart now and hope to find no cracks.
