These are the aircraft tuggers we bought quite a while back. They are finally home and now non running. They both turn over though so I guess that is a good start at least. The Dodge is a donor. I plan to use the engine for the Cummins swap in my wife’s F250. The Chevy is going to be a play truck that my son will learn to wrench on. What do you all think?

And this is it for now. I will post more detailed photographs fo the Chevy when my wife sends them to me.

I think your wife must be a saint!!!

Idea!

After removing the engine from the Dodge:

1) Cut the frames, welding the Dodge up to the Chevy, facing backwards...
2) Drive the Chevy half with pride.

Sort of a push-me-pull-you.

:)

Extra Credit: Bumper sticker for the Dodge - facing following traffic:

"My mother-in-law only rides in Dodge trucks"

Extra-EXTRA Credit:

Make the Dodge a hydraulic rear steer, actuated by the front (Chevy) steering!

I saw something like that on the Red Green show. He mated two K cars together - of course with duck tape. Here's the link to the video on youtube.

BTW, sounds like you got some great projects in the future. Looks good.

Are those gear reductions in the axels?

Yeah buddy. I think they are ZF axles. The Chevy also as full hydro four wheel steer. That is going to be a fun biuld.

Oh yeah, it is funny you say that about my sife. Because SHE found another old truck that she thought I would like. It has been sitting for a while and it nothing more than yard art right now. But she is still working it into our budget so I can have it when I get home. Now, what kind of woman not only agree to allow the yard fill up with trucks but helps fill it up as well? :D

You are a lucky man. :D I really like the Chevy. The front end looks like a beast with the front bumper. I almost bought a Dodge like that from APG in Maryland. They are neat trucks.

Yeah, I think so.

I might get another one if I locate one.

They would probably be a bit squirrely up here in snow country...otherwise I'd suggest putting a snowplow on them. Have seen one used as a 'lot truck' for shuttling boats around a marina. Crosstown stuff would be possible as well.

I hope to have my own shop when I get home. I think they would be good for moving disabled vehicles around.

...or disabled houses...or semis...or Sherman tanks... :)

If it is FWD I bet the chevy would be one heck of a trail truck with the four wheel steering.

That is the plan. I am considering putting a Blazer body on that chassis.
