Having trouble with my transmission. 2002 allison / LB7. Sometimes when I back out of the driveway and throw it in drive it goes nowhere and wont until I turn it off them restart the engine and then it goes. Sometimes I throw it in drive and it wont go until the RPMs are high then it catches hard. Sometimes I’m driving along and it skips 2nd gear. Sometimes I only have 2nd or 3rd gear, not sure witch but only one of them. When any one of these things happen sometimes the SES light comes on and stays on. It’s not real consistent. I’m guessing it’s an electrical or software problem.
Do I have to take it to a dealer or should I try a trans shop ??
