sudden loss of power then SES...

This is how my day went-
All systems go at startup.
Stopped for fuel while towing my wifes old subaru.
Made it to my destination with no performance issues. Couldn't even tell it was behind me.
Fired up the rig to leave and upon acceleration, i noticed a VERY sluggish take off.
Felt like the trailer brakes were engaged...
I kept going and about 15 miles into my ride home, the SES light came on.
Got home and changed the fuel filter.
No difference.
Dropped the trailer and took a ride.
Still no difference.

Confused now.
What would cause the truck to suddenly become a turd?
Injectors crap out?

Any input on this would be much appreciated.

Sorry, it's a 2001 Dmax 3500.

Since your SES light is on the best thing to do would be read the codes that are set.. Autozone will usualy read codes if you don't have a scanner .. could be in LIMP mode ...
