Dash gauges act crazy

I ran out of gas because the light didn't come
One day I had no oil pressure, had it towed to a dealer and they only saw that the oil guage was interminttly jumping around.
OH, it a 2003 6.6
Last week I received in the mail a letter about a class action lawsuit for the speedometer and other gauges not allway working. So I now know I am not crazy and can prove it to them. It is on 2003-2005, I think. THe letter says take it with the letter to a dealer and gm will replace it. THey have done what they did with the fuel injectors increased the warranty to 70k miles I think.

There have been problems with the 2003-2004 clusters, and GM is fixing them under warranty for 7 yrs/70K miles. See this thread. My 2003 failed 3 times, once under the factory warranty (3yr/36K), twice after. I got a full refund after submitting the paperwork and receipts. I got the class-action notification also.

sometimes, when it's raining, my gauges won't work at all when i start the truck, but it has always helped to shut down and restart, probably some error in the data signals..
