Throttle cable

My donor motor I was told came out of an 80's era J Code 3/4 ton p/u. I removed the top of the donor injector pump and installed it on the humvee take out I am working on. I installed the throttle cable bracket as well. Bought a cable at NAPA for a 85 J code 3/4 ton p/u. The new cable lifts the linkedge up about 1/4 inch from its resting point? The stop screws on both pumps look to be about in the same position? Could I possible have the wrong cable? Was there multiple cable options? With the cable attached it seems to be in the position the cold idle would set the linkedge at? The stop on the pedal end did not apear to be adjustable.
