Can anyone tell me how to know or tell when the fuel injectors are going bad?
I thought I read somewhere in here about a paper towel test, or an increasing oil level. I'd a ppreciate the help. I've only had my 2002 LB7 for a month or so. It has 70,000 and seems to run great. I was just curious what the warning signs are.
P.S. Are the injectors covered to 100,000 miles regardless of owner and year???
Thanks,
G

Search this forum for all the answers to your questions...warranty info covered in detail.

In general, the first signs of LB7 injector failure is often stinky, fuel heavy white exhaust smoke at idle, and/or diluted crankcase oil. Dropping oil off the dipstick onto a paper towel may show the fuel as a lighter colored ring around the center black spot.

I have received 3 sets of LB7 injectors under warranty and never had noticable crankcase dilution, the exhaust smoke at idle and eventual fuel knock under acceleration was always my signal of the problem.
