4.5l diesel

With all thats going on is our new diesel suburban going to be delayed or even GULP canceled? Or that engine in anything else for that matter. When things get slow its always the brand new stuff and R&D that gets the ax first.

The building of the new diesel is still on trac for production At tonawanda engine plant in western ny

It has been quiet on the western front.... concerning diesel hype from the General. My hunch is that the momentum built up (and money already spent) over the past couple of years for the 4.5L project is just enough to at least see it appear in late 2009.

If you want one, I'd buy one when they become available, and not wait too long... ;)

I was wondering as well, since I read that GM is cutting back an additional 117,000 trucks and SUV's.

Shoot, it might start to get difficult to find a 6.6l diesel truck...

If the general could only make a 4.5l diesel HYBRID Tahoe that got over 30 mpg....

cutting back production just might help used truck values. in another thread i started, dealer offered me $21k for my gmc dmax...2 years old with 24 k.on odo. .....in jan 08 trade was $30k. i passed on the zero % deal. i cant see eating almost 10k on trade vs payoff...had the 06 detailed, new 07 style wheels and tires, and she s looking new again to me....
