I was getting onto the highway today and i noticed my service engine soon light had come on, and then about 30 seconds later my truck stalled going up a hill, and i could only get the RPMS up to about 2,500 with the accelletator all the way down. A few miles afterwards the truck was working fine, just like it should. The light is still on...does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be? Thank you..

would a bad fuel filter cause a check engine light?

A plugged fuel filter or an incorrectly installed fuel filter (leaking air) can produce a mismatch between the commanded and actual fuel-rail pressure, which sets a code.... and puts the vehicle in limp mode.

ok thanks, I will change the fuel filter tomorrow. Will the check engine light turn off if the problem is fixed? Or do I have to re set it and wait a while to make sure that WAS the problem?

Yes, but it will still have the code stored in history.

First rule of troubleshooting a check engine light is to get the DTC number and of course write it down. Circumstances, conditions, etc can sometimes get a guy to a good guess, but without the code it's purely a guess.
