I am looking for a 6.2 to put into a military vehicle and I want to retain the 24V.
I have a line on a 6.2 out of a 84 suburban that I could get for fairly cheap. Will it end up costing me more with this motor vs one of the Hummer motors?
Dont believe that the 84 would be a J code - is that big a deal? Don't really know what that means.
How hard would it be to convert a civi motor to 24V? Just starter and alternator right?
Thanks
Starter, alternator, injection pump solenoid (i have a few 24 volt ones let me know)
the J code is a non EGR engine with alittle more HP
the C code is a EGR engine with alittle less hp
i would worry too much about C code or J code, i swapped a 1982 C code EGR engine in to my 1976 dodge m882,
how many miles are on the engine?
*also* i think most suburbans have J code engines

Trying to get a mileage number from the seller.
What sort of cost associated with converting to 24V? Are glow plugs 12/24v or universal? Wanted to do a manual glow plug control anyway.

the glow plugs are 12v AC60G you can get a GLOW PLUG RESISTOR BLOCK off an m1008 or m1009 and that will work to make the 12volt glowplugs, I like the 24 volt start it works alot better then the 12 volt IMO
