Hello,
I've been noticing a longer glow plug light cycle time. My trucks glow plug light would normally cycle for about 15-20 seconds and then it would fire right up. Over the past 6-8 months it has increasingly taken longer for the light to turn off. I started it today and it must have taken about a minute for the light to turn off. Do you think it is the glow plugs or the relay? I notice the truck cranks over very slow so I will be looking at the starter as well. Trucks batteries and charging system are in great shape, I think it is something else.

Thanks.....

The latest AC-60G plugs can handle the longer glow cycle times, but whether or not the life of the plugs is affected remains a question.

Your 1984 6.2 was equipped with the thermo-switch glow controller. I'd update to the more reliable 1985-93 version. It's a fairly easy upgrade.
