Consider yourself lucky. There's many dealerships around here that won't take a large truck or SUV in on trade no matter it's age or mileage. They are flooded, and two months ago when they did take this vehicles in, they were giving almost $7K below blue book. Right now even dealerships out here are having problems getting wholesale book out of a vehicle.

make s it tuff to trade up..........i m thinking he s about 5 k under.........checked a few sources, all within 600 bucks, trade should still be around 29k average, retailing at 37 k......oh well.......guess i m driving this for awhile longer......

the new deal would definetely be a candidate for GAP insurance ! ! ! !

anyone buying large suv s pickups, get GAP insurance.....imagine a loss with these book values and a insurance company paying based on low prices.......ughhhhhhhh

Yeah, that does seem low seeing I was give $21K on my "03" with 120K miles on it back in December 07. Of course the fuel prices were quite a bit lower back then. Would of kept that truck if it was for having to play injector roulette (sp).;)

Unfortunately, keeping your '06 makes the most sense - and for a variety of reasons.

Would be a great time to acquire a late model 2500 series Suburban or Yukon XL, then drop in D/A... ;)

probally keeping it....for the $8,000 reasons or so....

checked with a wholesale buddy of mine, priced using gavles ? wholesale book....comes out to 24,900.....it s the book wholesalers use to buy....guess the 1500 hit is for reconditioning..couple paint scuffs, chip in windshield..

and use NADA to sell ! ! !..

mnnnnn, what to do with the 2006 to make it feel new again ?

i have an '06 crew cab D/A and at 118 000 km's it still starts, runs, drives and has power like its new. The only thing not new about it is the wear on the body (rock chips, scuffs and scratches and such)

All in all I'm really happy with it and I've driven an '08 at work and I would much rather keep my '06 as long as i can.

I want to see how many km's I can really squeeze out of it before any major overhaul of the engine or transmission.

I agree... Used Truck, large SUV is almost worthless right now...

Great time to get one if you always wanted one and can afford the fuel cost.

Very bad time to try and get out of one....

I concur. I've seen nice, 2006 & 2007 classic trucks on Ebay with LOW mileage for 20-30k on a 40K+ sticker priced vehicle. I've gotta bite the bullet and keep mine (2007 classic, 16k miles). Can't afford to trade down and take a beating.

Go wash it and shine it up. It'll look like new :) and/or go get you a rental car for a day, like a Yugo, and then switch back to the truck
