Yes, nitrous has been used on the 6.2L diesel as well as naturally aspirated 6.5L diesels.
Nitrous is useful in a performance environment, like the race track or on the dyno. It's not too useful in a daily driver. It cost me $70 to fill a 15-lb nitrous bottle last year. For my use, it's good for about a half dozen 1/4 mile runs... or about 60 seconds of continuous use.
A turbocharger is the best hp/$ addition you can add. :)

Ok, I'll remeber that. The whole bottle will only last 60 seconds?
Gotta get an engine first though haha

How long a fill lasts depends on the jet size in use as well as the bottle size. I'm currently using a size 78 jet in the Duramax powered Lil Red, but a 6.2/6.5 could use a smaller jet (like in the 20-40 range), depending on how much power you're looking for and how much extra fuel there is available. But, realistically, nitrous is too expensive and too short lived for anything but the track. A good turbocharger will be there whenever you drive the truck.
