Best place to cut through the firewall so I can mount my PMD in the cabin.

This last weekend I finally received my 6 ft extension for my PMD. I've seen a bunch on people put it on the front bumper , but I'm afraid of hitting someone and that thing gets crushed. I wanted to put it in the cabin since my cable reaches there. What area was the easiest to go through?

It gets too hot to put in the cabin. Don't do it. Putting it in the nostril while it is at risk for a front end collision, is worth it.

If you are constantly using the truck to push cars out of your way, mount it up on the firewall. Even in the nostril, I've reached down to touch it while the truck was running and nearly burned my fingers. In the cabin, it won't get sufficient cooling and will certainly warm up the cab.

Thank you for your advise. I've been lurking and reading and looks like more and more are going with the front bumper method.
