SRW or DRW?
Lift or no lift?
Don't mind a little rubbing or hate rubbing?
Do you mind cutting fenders?

thanks,jim Bigjim,

I have a 97 GMC K3500 SRW I run 265/75/R16's on it. I can make them rub at times mostly when I have my camper on. IIRC some guys with SRW trucks say they can run 285/75/R16's I would think they don't carry heavy loads.

IIRC the duallies can only run 235/85/R16's due to the tires in the rear rubbing side walls when loaded.

all our trucks are used commercially, plowing, towing, hauling in construction, landscaping and snow removal.

235/85-16 32" is max i have run without rubbing (and with a 5-ton+ load they look like they are real close), on <12kgvw chassis cabs.

our k3500 srw's have 265/75-16 and 265/70-17's 32" tire_and the 2500hd's have 285-16's and 12.50x10.50-17's 33" tire with the very occassional slight grand backing up over bumps or high curbs with wheels cranked just so.

96 2500hd has cranked tbars and 1" spacer in back with 285's

03 2500hd has cranked tbars and 285's

you can go bigger but not while towing or hauling heavy without bodywork mods
