Has anybody hear anything about the new straight 7 cyd. diesel engine GM coming out with?

this is for the chev and gmc trucks. this is to replace the durmax engine what i hear.

I've not heard of GM with this in the works. However, the 6.6L Duramax currently in GM pickups isn't the only Duramax engine. There are other models currently in medium duty trucks. The 7.8L Duramax I6 is a popular engine in GM and Isuzu MD trucks. If I were to venture a guess, I think it would be an addition or upgrade of the MD engine series. An I6 LT Diesel engine is difficult enough to fit under the hood, let alone one more cylinder.
