Hey,
I have gone thru the threads and come up the fact the that my '05 2500HD Diesel has cruise control built-in, I just need to swap out the turn signal switch with one that has the cruise switch on it. Is this accurate? Has anyone done this install? I have come up with GM part number 12450067 and it runs $114 delivered(GMpartsdirect_com), but is non-returnable, and my wife will beat me if it doesn't work. While I enjoy a good beating, the associated verbal abuse is no fun. Thanks! :)

It will work. The cruise control is electronic, and the harness is present. Some vehicles require PCM programming to enable it, but it will work. Install the signal stalk and try it. If it works, you're done. If not, you'll have to enable it in the PCM (requires Tech II or capable scanner).

Hello,
So I need to check that it is enabled, where would I get access to a tech II scanner other than the dealer? Thanks.
