Engineer Wanted

I am preping a 95 6.5 to replace the engine in the sub and I want to fabricate a main stud girdle similiar to "82 Blazer"s girdle seen in 6.2/6.5 tech forum. My question is what type of steel would be best for this application "ie" compatable expansion rates with the cast iron block and vibration fatigue resistance
Any imput would be greatly appreciated
