I recently attended a local county fair pickup/tractor pull with a variety of classes, except there was only one diesel pickup class.
There were probably one or two 6.5 TD trucks in the pull, the rest being later model trucks.
It was real obvious who had the power when they hooked onto the sled, and the Duramax was the winner. There were actually 2 Duramax models which were obviously chipped that gave impressive performances and really screamed down the track with the skids.
The closest Ford was a new 6.0 PS that was chipped but it blew the driveshaft right at the end of the track. A D0Dge ram that was obviously turned up also did quite well. The Powerstrokes other than the newest one did not do very well. I don't know much about them, but thought they would have done better.
They pulled skids on dirt - just like the tractors did.
