starter mount broke

on my 1982 k30 block

my question is the starter ear repairable it broke right through the outer bolt hole on the block

i weld new material, grinded surface back to same level and made new hole, it worked well until something broke inside engine...

you just need correct welding electrodes? for the block material...

i used CERTANIUM 889 SP AC/DC electrodes and small inverter machine, took only starter out and cleaned broken area, preheating not needed for this material.
