I have seen the AFE magnum air intakes and they seem to run from $250 and up.

This might be a dumb question or already posted, but what if you were to just remove the current air intake cover and cut down the sides of the current intake box and run an AFE or Banks filter? That way it would draw air from all around and not just the fender well.

I know the AFE’s are 4” tapered to 3 ½” for the turbo input, but does a ½” make a $250 difference?

Just a thought. Flame on LOL:D

No flames... :D The idea behind most well designed cold air intakes is that they don't allow hot underhood air to find its way into the intake air. With that in mind, you can modify your own system or shop for a commercial version that fits the criteria.
