i have a 1995 gmc k2500 with the 6.5 turbo diesel in it, i blew the head gasket and now the block is no good. i have found a good used 6.5 out of a 1993, how much different is it than mine and is it worth it to do this swap? thanks for any info.

The block and heads can be used universally between the years you ask about. Install your accessories on the long block and you're in business. You will have to use your timing cover, CPS (Crank Position Sensor), reluctor, and an EFI harmonic balancer. All of these things should be gone through or reused with a long block change, anyway, so you've lost nothing by using a 93 long block.
