hi and thanks for the information. i have installed timing gears, on my 6.2,the front timing cover mark has been tampered with a cold chiesel, can,t find the original mark.i know i,am not far,missing injectors before i can start motor should come in this week.except for loud rattling noise when too advance,how can i time it ! its and 1984 k5 no electronics.since i a,m installing a banks turbo i would like too get the most power i can out off it.

So far I had the best results by ear.
Retard/advance till it sounds nice. Too much rattle when warm isto advanced.
To make sure you're close you can activate the HPCA solenoid and it shoud give you a more powerstroke sound witch goes away as soon as you let the solenoid off.
If you are near the mark on the distributioncover you're good.
This goes if you have a healthy IP and properly adjusted injectors.

If you want you can have it checked with a timingtool like the Snapon MT ....... forgot the number. or at the dealership or trusted dieselservice with the right tools.

fuel pomp is rebuilt waiting on injector nozzles,before i can fire her up for first time. hopefuly in 2 weeks.
