To place a 1997 turbo on a 1993 truck what mods will be necessary? What do I do with the vaccuum line?
Thank you

From my understanding the 94 or the 97 will work fine, however the 93 does not use vacuum but both the 94 and 97 will, just replace the vacuum silonoid with a mechanical one best would be from one of the kits from a vendor, you could use the one from the 93 turbo but it would limit your boost an im thinking the reason your replacing is to go with higher boost.
Put a Boostmaster wastegate controller from Heath Diesel on the 97 turbo and bolt it on. No problems. I have used the original GM1 turbo, then a GM4 and now a GM8 on my 93. The GM8 is the best. RT

RT have you noticed any performance increases from the GM 3 to the GM 8, I'm mostly interested to know if there is any improvements in lower end torque for pulling or has it helped to lower EGT's.
I replaced the GM-3 with a GM-8 on my '93 about 8 months ago. Fabb'd a spring boost controller for about $10, maxes out the way i have it set at about 11psi. I noticed that it builds boost much quicker, and seems to have a touch more power. Easy replacement for the -3.

I'd have to agree with that. Sorry for the delay. RT
