Well I tried finding my previous posts but was unsuccessful, so here goes. I had posted previously that my 85 6.2 had an odd idle. Kinda loppy, but I have just tried to put that out of my mind, I also noticed not so great fuel mileage from this truck 14-16mpg. Thinking I should be getting more? Anyway, took this rig on a 500 mile return trip and noticed a "haze" in my rear view mirror, thought Oh oh blew a rad hose? or burning oil? So hauled it to the side of the road and noticed a quite steady drip/stream of diesel from the injector closest to the firewall of course. I thought at first it was the tiny return line leaking but no seems to be coming from the injector itself. Now I was on the side of the road and not near my warm shop and tool box, but could the injector be loose? or is there an o-ring/seal that could be shot? If loose or o-ring, what would the easiest way to repair? I would think that first the fuel line would have to be removed and then the injector. Then after breaking this "seal" I would have to bleed the lines of air. Would I have to do the whole system or just the line I had off? Kinda new at this still. Thanks for your replies and patience.

The injectors have copper crush washers under the threads to seal them against the seats in the heads. There is a chance that the injector is leaking between the body and the nozzle though.
Either way, if you pull that injector out, you'll need to replace the crush washer. as far as bleeding it goes, I wouldn't worry about it too much. The rest of the 7 cylinders should fire like normal and the injector should bleed itself sooner than later. If you are worried about it, just crack it open while the engine is running until fuel comes out, then tighten it back up again and let it do the rest.
