2001 GMC 2500HD Duramax airbag warning light stays on after startup. Any ideas on what to check? Thanks.

All airbag system electrical connectors will be yellow, and no other connectors share that color. They should be checked with the fuse pulled. Disconnect the connectors and grease them (dielectric/tune up grease). You can use a " quick drying" contact cleaner (it's like brake cleaner, but isn't brake cleaner-get it at Walmart, Radio Shack, etc.) if they appear dirty or corroded. Replace the fuse after you are finished with the rest of the system. If you still have the airbag lamp after checking the items below, you'll need a Tech II to read the BCM airbag codes.
Check these, in order:
Fuse, in the panel at the end of the dash.
Frame mounted sensors. They will have yellow connectors.
Yellow connector under the dash near the steering column.
Yellow connector under the airbag on the steering wheel.
Yellow connector for the passenger airbag, above the glove box.
Thanks, will trouble shoot as you describe.
