using valley mount van turbo setup in 85 pickup?

I was wondering if anyone here has ever put the turbo setup that mounts in the engine valley in a 80's model pickup? Just curious if this would work better than the side mount setup?

Don't think it would fit as the exhaust pipes come around the back of the heads and then to the turbo . Not a lot of room for the pipes .

Not enough room, and you'd have to machine the block or replace it to accept the valley-mount turbo as those particular blocks have extra oil pressure and return ports where the turbo mounts to the engine.
