Title says it all....I have a line on some factory Ford 1t 8-bolt alloys cheap and my stock steel wheel are starting to rust out. I also need new rubber very soon and I don't really want to put new skins on rusty wheels.
Will a Ford 8-bolt fir on my Chev? Thanks all. Cheers

Used to be you could put furd on Chevy but not Chevy on furd. Centers were a slightly larger opening on the furds. Make sure they are 8 bolt. IIRC, furd had some 7 bolts for a while.

Ford change their bolt pattern 02 or was it 03 and up...they went to metric 8 bolt after that...

Thanks for the clues guys. I figured it must be too good to be true.

As long as the ford rims are pre-03 they should work.
I thought it was when Ford went to the new body style in 1999 they change to the metric bolt pattern.

Bingo, he's correct.
1997 and earlier Fords used the same 8 lug pattern as GM and Dodge. '99 and up (there was no '98) will have the metric pattern referenced earlier.

Clear as mud:
The 1993 ford rims I have will fit my 1993 Chev front and back
The 1993 chev rims I have will fit my 2001 chev front and back
The 1993 ford rims I have will fit my 2001 chev back but NOT the front they hit the calipers.
As mentioned in previous post the new furd rims dont fit anything but new furds.
I also thought 99 was the change to metric for Ford. Pre-99 Ford should be 8 on 6.5 just like GM & Dodge.

So, are GM 8-lug rims pretty much interchangeable throughout the years? I have a line on some nice 2001 rims that I'd like to consider for my '93.

Sorta. They pretty much stayed with very similar sizes and backspacing from the 80's on. 16x6.5 going up to 16x7 and backspacing was in the 4.25-5" range the whole time.
The 2001 rims should work fine on your '93. I've actually got some 2007 steel wheels from a GMC on my '86 and have a set of the newer style aluminum wheels that will eventually be on it.

IIRC, yes. The only difference was Chevy to Ford because ford was about 1/8 in larger diameter on the center (large ) hole.

When Ford went to the current Super Duty design for the 1999 model year they changed their lug pattern a bit.
For the record I know that just about any pre-1999 Ford 8 lug wheel will work on a GM 8 lug truck into the 90's. Not sure on more modern GM's though.
