Drive Shaft

I have the split Drive shaft on my Truck and I need to change bearing at split. My question is going to a one piece drive shaft a better option and if it is where can I get one?

I looked into this for my old Ford Ex.Cab LongBed some years ago and drive shaft shops all told me the same. They can only make a shaft so long and what I was asking was just that. Too long. I think they said five and a half to six feet was the longest. I wanted one almost seven foot long.
