2610 code

brought the 06 lbz to the dealer for steering shaft and complaint of a vibration at 45mph. they put in a new shaft(problem fixed for now) and they also said there was a tcm update with exactly the same complaint i had, so the truck went back for that again prob. solved. a week later the ses light comes on 2610 code.something about off timer or something.dealer ordered a new pcm. does anyone know exactly what the code means? and is this a common prob.?

You aren't/haven't been running a Bully Dog or similar tuner have you?

P2610 is an internal timer failure. It is not a common problem. Pretty rare actually, but it happens. ;)

nope no tuners truck is 100% stock 06 lbz. how does this off timer effect the truck?

I've heard of this a couple of times when using a Buly Dog tuner. I believe the fix was just to return to stock and use a different tuner. Might be worth a try to get a reflash if there are updates available.
