View Full Version : Leak at spin on filter
When I was changing my oil yesterday I noticed that my tranny spin on filter was leaking. There was finally no snow in the driveway and sure enough there were spots. Checked the fluid level and seemed to be okay. I hand tightened the filter but when I went to drive home from work I saw accumlation on the filter but nothing on the ground. Anyone else have this problem? As always y'all are a wealth of knowledge.
Thanks,
Pete

The filter needs about 1 full turn after the slack is out of the gasket. Use a wrench if you have to. If it still leaks, it could be a defective filter or you have debris on the sealing surface.
I'm moving this thread to the 2500HD/3500 Trucks & Drivetrain Forum.
Thanks again DMax. Last time I posted in this forum about fluids and then for this post I posted about the tranny in fluids. Eventually I'll get it right. If I only had a brain
