View Full Version : Loud vibration at rpm
Hey, I have a 95 yukon Diesel, AT, 225000km, the truck has a loud, (hard to talk above it), noise on the highway when its under load, it happens at about 2400RPM when driving at 110Km/hr, if I push it higher it smooths out. any thoughts.

Jack up the front and check the wheel bearings. Betcha you find a bad one. Thats what I had and it was doing the same thing. The only way I found it was from help from members here.
First off
WELCOME TO TDP :D :D :D
The info Hillbilly has offered is very good. Check it out.
Also if you place the trans in Neutral during the noisy spot and let the RPM's drop does the noise follow the engine or the drivetrain.

as soon as the snow clears and I can move around again I'll give the front a good going over.

Check to see if it happens in 2nd and 3rd at 2400rpm that will somewhat determine if its in the engine or other parts on the drivetrain.
If the vibrations persists at the same frequency in the other gears, I'd also check the driveshaft universals.
There's also the possibility of a warped wheel or bad tire.
