Well it happened twice...injector trouble. My question is what is the difference between 4039 and 4039a and 4039 b as to warrenty work.

I had 4 injectors replaced about 8 months ago and had to pay the $100 deductible. Yesterday I had 4 more replaced with no deductable.

The invoice says special policy 4039. Should all 8 have been replaced?

#4,5,6 had excess of 5.0 standard less than 4.0

What's the truck year and engine series? Makes a difference.

Your injectors are covered for 200K or 7 years. At NO CHARGE to customer. And, according to the policy, all 8 are replaced at once. You are due at least the $100 you paid. They should have replaced all 8 injectors, and should, still. Now, if you have an injector problem before the warranty is up, they'll have to do it again. Just be sure they replace all 8 (even the ones they just replaced), and do it at no charge to you. Your Diesel engine warranty is 5 years or 100K, which is probably the warranty they used to replace less than 8 injectors, and it has a $100 deductible.

You could go back and demand they replace the others, now. I can't believe they'd replace only 4 (on both sides, no less). Once the valve covers are off, replacing only the injectors is a piece of cake. There is no allowance, according to the injector policy, to replace less than all 8 injectors. I would ask them what recall or policy they used to justify the repair. In any case, get your $100 back!

Why on God's green earth would anyone go to the work to R&R a single LB7 injector without (at least) doing all 4 injectors on a given side of the engine? If you have the valve cover off, you might as well do them all when you are in there, right?

I guess I could understand doing one bank (of injectors) and not the other - although its like giving a customer half of a haircut ...you are bound to be back soon!!! :D

Thanks, that's the way I see it too. The reason they gave for not doing all 8 before was the fuel rate wasn't bad. Therefore only the affected injectors were replaced.

When they tell me no this time, what is my next move? The first time I went to GM customer service and they stuck by the dealer and the $100 deductible. That's why I'm asking what the difference is between 4039 and 4039b.

Thanks again

You need to some how get the AVM involved. That would be the dealers GM representitive. You might also get the General manager of the dealer involved. Maybe suggest that they read the Special Policy 04039B! ;)
