I have a concern regarding the thermocoupler install. I am planning on tapping the exhaust manifold pre turbo just to the top left edge of the shock mount. My question is should I be concerned with metal filings in the manifold getting into the turbo, thus needing to remove the turbo and remove the filings before startup or should I leave the turbo where it is and try to suck the filings out as best possible with shop vac.
Thanks for the help

Just do it with the engine running (idling, start with a cold engine). The filings will blow out as you drill. Use a shop vac before you break through to catch most of it, then let the exhaust blow out the chips as you break through. If you pilot drill, don't go all the way through with the smaller bit (~1/4" deep). Don't worry about the heat, the "air" coming out will be surprisingly "not hot". The manifold and bit will be, though. Let it reasonably cool before installing the bushing, and use a silver anti-seize.
